Sarouk Rugs
Antique Sarouk rugs are those that were made in the Iranian village of Sarouk. The Arak province, of which Sarouk is a part of, was one of the most popular centers of rug making and carpet weaving in the past, especially in the period from late 19th century to early 20th century. The most popular designer in those days was one named Farahan, who was extremely ambitious and was determined to make a name for himself in rug making, even beating the dominant Kashan region.
